Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the ‘model’ of Congress politics means nepotism, casteism, communalism and vote bank politics, which has ruined not only Gujarat but the entire country.
Addressing an election rally in north Gujarat’s Mehsana, Modi said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has never supported the policy of “favouritism and discrimination”. He said that showing faith in the ruling BJP by the youth also reflects the same thing.
PM Modi said, “They (Congress) always want to keep the poor poor so that they depend on the government.” He said today’s youth are confident that BJP’s policies will create more opportunities for them in future. . The Prime Minister said that youth in the age group of 20 to 25 years would probably not be aware of the hardships that the people of Mehsana district had to go through, including the scarcity of water and electricity.
He said, ‘Drought was also common in those days. We the people (BJP) have taken Gujarat on the path of prosperity amid natural calamities and limited resources. Electricity and water used to be major issues in the earlier elections. Today the opposition cannot speak on these issues as they have been resolved.
