Muslim League is secular: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader and former party president Rahul Gandhi is on a tour of America these days. During this, he is giving statements from place to place and also answering the questions of the media. He is roaming around America answering questions on the situation in India and the policy of the government. Meanwhile, in response to a question at the National Press Club in Washington DC, he described the Muslim League as completely secular.

Rahul Gandhi said, ‘Muslim League is a completely secular party, there is nothing like non-secular in them.’ Explain that in Kerala, the Congress party has an alliance with the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML).

Rahul Gandhi and his Congress party have always been accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party at the Center of being communal. The Congress strongly opposes the policies of the BJP, alleging that it works against Muslims while supporting Hindus. But Rahul Gandhi describes the Muslim League as completely secular.

Rahul Gandhi said, I would also have the same relations with Russia as the BJP government has maintained. Keeping in mind the war between the two countries, the Congress party would have taken the same stand as the present central government has taken. Because the kind of relations India has with Russia cannot be denied.
