In the past Muslim invaders have plundered Hindu temples on a massive scale. In this connection, a video of a Muslim man glorifying Mohammad Ghaznavi, also known as Mahmud of Ghazni, the notorious Islamist marauder who repeatedly assaulted and plundered the Somnath Temple, has gone viral on the internet. The video was taken on the beach near the historic temple by the man himself.
The man in the video honours Islamist attackers, including Mohammad Ghaznavi, for assaulting and robbing the Temple. The man also invites fellow Muslims to learn about their “glorious past” and to inspire others to do the same.
The man goes on to say that, while modern history depicts Mohammad Ghaznavi and Mohammad Bin Qasim as robbers and dacoits, they should be remembered for bringing “glory to Islam.”
“This is the Somnath Shrine, which Mohammad Ghaznavi and Mohammad Bin Qasim conquered. It is important that Muslims learn about their glorious past, such as “how Mohammad Bin Qasim crossed the sea to conquer India and then how Mohammad Ghaznavi came and attacked the Somnath Temple,” the man says.
“Although they are branded as robbers and dacoits in today’s culture, it is important to note that they were faithful followers of Allah and gave glory to Islam,” the man says, referring to the various assaults on the Somnath Temple by Mughal invaders.
Toward the end of the film, the Muslim man surprisingly reveals that he recently visited the Somnath Temple and exhorts Muslims not to ignore their “illustrious past.”
”Truth be known, those who forget their heritage are always lost in history,” the man says. Mahmud of Ghazni was a Muslim invader from the Turkic empire of Ghaznavids who raided and plundered the temple in Gujarat in the 10th century. He also shattered the Jyotirlinga and is accused of killing thousands of devotees who were attempting to defend the temple.
Attracted by India’s riches, he is considered to have raided and robbed the country 17 times. In addition to the Somnath temple, he is thought to have demolished temples in Kangra, Mathura, and Jwalamukhi. As a result, he had gained the moniker “idol destroyer.”
