Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission through video conference. Speaking on the occasion, he said that this mission will give power to bring revolutionary changes in the field of health care in the country. Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission will play a big role in solving the health problems of the poor and middle class people.
The Prime Minister said that every citizen of the country will get a digital health ID and their records will be safe through digital medium. Ayushman Bharat scheme was launched in the country three years ago on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. The Prime Minister expressed happiness that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is being launched across the country from today.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the doctors, nurses and other medical staff who helped during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana has also played an important role in providing free and timely help to the people. So far more than two crore people in which half of the population is women have taken advantage of this scheme.
The Prime Minister said that India is working on a holistic and inclusive health model that provides safe healthcare, affordable and accessible treatment. Talking about the unprecedented reforms on health education, the Prime Minister said that a large number of doctors and para-medical manpower are now being created in the country as compared to the earlier seven-eight years.
