Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said today that the country needs at least $5 billion in the next six months to supply essential commodities. Told Parliament that more money is needed this year to meet Sri Lanka’s basic needs.
Singhe said the United Nations has pledged $40 million for food, agriculture and health care to help Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is currently facing its worst economic crisis in more than 70 years. Sri Lanka has held talks with the International Monetary Fund to deal with the economic crisis.
