The Central Government has said that this year one thousand five hundred pilgrims will visit Gurupurab in Pakistan. Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi expressed hope that Pakistan will facilitate the travel of this group of pilgrims through the Attari-Wagah border.
This group of pilgrims is scheduled to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Sacha Sauda in Pakistan from November 17 to 26.
In November 2019, the two countries opened the Kartarpur Corridor connecting Dera Baba Sahib in Gurdaspur in India to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.
The Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara is located near the Ravi river in the Narowal district of Pakistan, about four kilometers from the Dera Baba Nanak temple. It is the final resting place of Baba Nanak Dev, the first Guru of the Sikhs.
He spent the last 18 years of his life in Kartarpur.
