Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Saturday said that the coronavirus recovery rate in India has gone above 58 per cent and that around 3 lakh people have recovered from the infection so far.
“Our recovery rate has gone above 58 per cent and around 3 lakh people have recovered from the novel coronavirus,” newsagency ANI quoted Harsh Vardhan as saying.
Harsh Vardhan further said that the mortality or fatality rate in the country nears 3 per cent which is very less.
“Our doubling rate has come down to near 19 days, which was 3 days before the lockdown,” Harsh Vardhan said.
In a tweet on Saturday, Harsh Vardhan also mentioned the “Centre’s bolsters efforts for Covid-19 management in Delhi” — “Diagnostic material for 4.7 lakh RT-PCR tests; 50,000 Rapid Antigen Test; Kits supplied Free of Cost to Delhi Govt by @ICMRDELHI; “Sardar Patel Covid Care Centre” at Chhattarpur, a 2,000-bedded facility.”
Harsh Vardhan’s comments come at a time when the nationwide coronavirus cases tally has crossed the 5-lakh mark.
According to health ministry’s update Saturday Morning, The total coronavirus cases in India surpassed 5 lakh with the highest single-day spike of 18,552 cases in the last 24 hours. Also, the death toll in the country now stands at 15,685.
As on Saturday, there are 5,08,953 positive cases in India including 1,97,387 active cases, 2,95,881 cured/discharged/migrated and 15,685 deaths, as per health ministry’s data.
