Pakistan resorted to unprovoked shooting and shelling along the Control Line (LoC) in J&K Poonch District on Wednesday.
Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Devender Anand said around 10 p.m. On Wednesday, Pakistan conducted an unprovoked ceasefire breach by firing small arms and shelling mortars along the LoC in the Mankote district of Poonch.
“The Indian Army has retaliated properly,” said the spokesperson.
No accident or injury was reported from the Indian side before this report was submitted.
At the beginning of this year, Pakistan has unpunishedly breached the bilateral ceasefire deal negotiated by the two countries in 1999.
Pakistan has broken a truce along the LoC in J&K more than 3,200 times since January 2020. As many as 30 people have been killed and over 100 others wounded in these truce breaches.
