A Pakistani Muslim girl was allegedly kidnapped by her own family members in the Italian city of Arezzo in order to prevent her from seeing a Hindu boy. The family members of the girl threatened to kill her if she contacted the Hindu boy in future.
Even her phone had been confiscated by the aforementioned family. Furthermore, the girl was only allowed to leave the house under the supervision of her family on a few occasions.
The girl was released after she tried sending an email to the Italian paramilitary police, the Carabinieri. She sent the email from a computer that her family had allowed her to pursue herĀ online courses, according to Italian news agency Ansa.
The girl was sent to a children’s home after being released from captivity. This comes after the girl told police that her family threatened to deport her to Pakistan if she continued to see the boy. The girl also told the cops that her family had threatened to kill them both.
According to the girl, she had been seeing the aforementioned Hindu boy for about a year and everything was fine until her family discovered the boy’s religion. The police have stated that they are undertaking inquiry and may file charges against the family, particularly the girl’s father and brothers.
