The Taliban have said hundreds of its fighters are moving towards the Panjshir Valley, which currently remains a hotbed of resistance in struggling Afghanistan.
The Russian news agency Sputnik reports that hundreds of mujahideen are heading towards the valley to take control of Panjshir province. Panjshir has remained a center of resistance since the fall of the Ashraf Ghani government, led by Ghani’s cabinet of First Vice President Amrullah Saleh and Ahmed Masood.
Meanwhile, Masood has said that he will not lay down arms and the local people are ready to fight. Masood also said that he and his supporters are open to talks with the Taliban, including an inclusive government.
