People are waiting for development in Nandigram: Suvendu Adhikari

BJP’s Nandigram candidate Suvendu Adhikari on his way to a polling booth in the assembly constituency. ‘Voting is underway, the situation is under control. People are hoping for development,’ he says.

“I appeal to people to come out in large numbers to cast their vote as the whole country is looking at Nandigram. People are waiting to see if development or politics of appeasement will win here.”

Adhikari cast his vote at a booth in remote Nandanayakbar Primary High School at around 7.30 in the morning. People thronged to meet him and greeted him with Jai Sri Ram slogans after he came out of the polling booth.

Mamata Banerjee is locked in a fierce prestige battle with confidante-turned-adversary Suvendu Adhikari, the incumbent in Nandigram.

The TMC supremo decided to move from her Bhowanipur seat in Kolkata to Adhikari’s stronghold in the constituency.
