Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone of the state’s longest Ganga Expressway in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. This expressway will be constructed in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide high speed connectivity across the country. The 594 km long six-lane expressway will cost Rs.36 thousand two hundred crores. Starting from village Bijauli in Meerut, this expressway will reach Judapur Dandu village in Prayagraj.
It will pass through Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj districts. This will be the longest expressway in the state connecting western and eastern Uttar Pradesh. A three and a half kilometer long airstrip will also be built on the expressway in Shahjahanpur, where Air Force aircraft can land and take off in case of emergency.
