PM Modi gets highest French civilian honor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor by French President Emmanuel Macron. It is the highest French honor, whether military or civilian. PM Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to receive this honour. Earlier, the Grand of the Legion of Honor was given only to selected prominent leaders and eminent personalities from all over the world. These include former South African President Nelson Mandela, the then Prince of Wales, King Charles, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Boutros Boutros-Ghali and former Secretary-General of the United Nations, among others.
