PM Modi will give his inaugural speech at the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2020 today at 4:30 p.m. via video conferencing.
Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan will also be present at the event. According to the website narendramodi.in, launched in 2015, the IISF is a festival to encourage science and technology. The goal is to connect the public with research, celebrate the joy of science and demonstrate how Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will offer solutions for improving lives.
The aim of the IISF 2020 is to help young people build skills in the 21st century with an emphasis on science awareness, innovation, critical thought, problem-solving and teamwork. The long-term goal is to inspire students to research and work in the science field.
Minister said that the International Science Festival will begin on 22 December and will end on 25 December.
“India International Science Festival-2020 will start December 22 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Ramanujan and will culminate on December 25, on the occasion of birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” the Minister said.
The focus of the Indian International Science Festival is ‘Science for Self-Reliant India and Global Welfare,’ added the Minister.
