Former India batsman Suresh Raina on Tuesday announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, making him eligible to play in T20 leagues abroad. Raina continued to play in the IPL in 2021 but Chennai Super Kings did not keep him in their team before the 2022 season.
Expressing gratitude to the Cricket Board of India, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and Chennai Super Kings, Raina tweeted, “It is an honor for me to represent my country and state Uttar Pradesh. I announce my retirement from all forms of cricket.
He can be seen playing in South Africa’s new T20 league next year. All the six teams of this league are owned by the owners of IPL.
Raina played his last competitive match for Chennai in October 2021 against Rajasthan Royals in Abu Dhabi.
