“Some people in Delhi teach me democracy” PM Modi slams Rahul Gandhi

PM Modi slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement of “no democracy” in India, and that those who stood up against the Prime Minister were branded “terrorists” even though they were (RSS Chief) Mohan Bhagwat.”

Some political groups are still dreaming about democracy, but they see their duplicity and their bleakness. The group that governs in Puducherry did not hold local elections despite the Supreme Court’s directives, while Jammu and Kashmir conducted Panchayat-level polls within one year of being a union territory,” said PM Modi, after unveiling the Ayushman Bharat scheme for health insurance coverage for all union citizens.

He said the recent local elections in Jammu and Kashmir had “strengthened the roots of democracy” and congratulated the electorate for exercising their franchise in the seven-phase election.

“I would like to congratulate the people of Jammu and Kashmir on improving democracy. I noticed how the young and the old entered the polling booths of the District Development Council (DDC). The people of Jammu and Kashmir reinforced the foundations of democracy in the DDC elections,” said Prime Minister Modi.
