Security agencies have arrested a Pakistani spy identified as Pathan Khan, son of Dinu Khan, in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. Pathan Khan, a local resident, is suspected of transmitting sensitive information of India to Pakistan. It is alleged that the accused was under the surveillance of Indian intelligence agencies for a long time and had provided important national security related information to Pakistani agencies.
After the arrest, security agencies have started intensive interrogation of Pathan Khan. The investigation is trying to find out who all the people the accused contacted in his activities and how much important information he has sent to Pakistan. Pathan Khan’s mobile phone is also being thoroughly examined to find out the sources of his communication.
According to sources, many relatives of Pathan Khan reside in Pakistan and he had also visited Pakistan in 2019. Since then, Indian security agencies were keeping a close watch on his activities as his modus operandi seemed suspicious. The current investigation is also looking into the kind of mediums through which Pathan Khan shared the information and whether there is a larger network working behind him.
During investigation it was found that Pathan Khan used to do farming in Zero RD of Mohangarh canal area of Jaisalmer. During this period he had sent videos and photos of the Army area to Pakistan, which posed a serious threat to the security of the country. After keeping an eye on the activities of Pathan Khan for a long time, the security agencies planned to catch him red handed and finally ensured his arrest.
Currently, Pathan Khan is in the custody of security agencies and information is being continuously obtained from him. Indian security agencies take this matter very seriously. If the allegations are verified in the investigation, strict legal action will be taken against Pathan Khan under the Sedition and Espionage Act.
