Hindus have been targeted in the recent past and especially sadhus who can preach the doctrines of Hinduism have been target of many anti-Hindu elements. Even on an auspicious festival like Holi, a 50-year-old sadhu who used to live in a temple was discovered dead in a field near a temple in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. According to a police, the sadhu’s throat was slit with a sharp weapon. Dissatisfied devotees have expressed their outrage over the brutal murder of a sadhu, prompting the police to issue a high-level alert.
Ashok Kumar, 50, a priest, had arrived at the temple a week before from Kailavan village in Salempur. The sadhu was discovered dead in a mustard field near the famous Dhakwale temple in Shikarpur’s Aanchru Kala village.
On Monday morning, CO Bijendra Rastogi and Police Officer Subhash Singh arrived at the scene after the body was discovered. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination.
Prior to this, on Monday (March 22), a Naga Sadhu was brutally assaulted by police after arriving in Bilaspur, the state capital of Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh. The cops not only brutally thrashed him, but also seized his belongings, which included 1.25 lac rupees in cash, a 12,000 mobile phone, and utensils. He was then thrown outside the police station by the cops.
Last week, a sadhu was found brutally murdered by smashing his head with a heavy object and burning his private parts in Islamnagar, UP, as reported by UP Varta News.
Last week, Mahanta Jayashree Baba was attacked with knives in Firozabad. The attacker also looted one lakh rupees. The money stolen was kept for the construction work of the Ashram’s Goshala.
11 incidents of brutal attacks on Hindu sadhus had come to light in 2020 which went largely unnoticed by the mainstream media and the political class.
