Today, the farmers demonstrating against the Centre’s three new farm regulations are expected to hold a seventh round of talks with the central government. The meeting between leaders of as many as 40 farmers’ unions and the Union Government will take place at 2 p.m. in Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi.
Agriculture minister met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss the potential policy of the Centre. The defence minister has emerged as one of the main negotiators for the government.

The agriculture minister had discussed all possible angles and probabilities with the defence minister that can enable to break the farmer’s deadlock on their protest.
Innumerable people from the farming community have gathered from the neighbouring States demanding a change in the new farm laws from the government.
In the previous round of talks held on 30 December, farmers’ unions and the central government were able to find common ground on issues such as rising power tariffs and punishments for burning stubble. However, both parties are at odds with the repeal of the agricultural statute and the legal promise of the minimum support price (MSP).
