Virat Kohli has announced to step down as the captain of the shortest format Twenty20 team. In a post on social media this evening, Kohli said that he will step down as the captain of the format after the Twenty20 World Cup in October is over.
Virat Kohli has taken this step due to the ever-increasing pressure on him. Kohli has made it clear that he will continue to play Twenty20 cricket as a batsman. He will continue to captain the Indian Test and ODI team. Kohli said that he has informed head coach Ravi Shastri, BCCI secretary Jay Shah and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly in this regard.
