The voting process has started today, Wednesday, in six states of India. On this day, voting is taking place for all 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra and for the second phase of assembly elections on 38 seats in Jharkhand. On this important democratic occasion, senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to voters to participate enthusiastically in this festival.
In his tweets, PM Modi stated, “Today, voting will take place for all seats in the Maharashtra assembly elections. I urge the voters of the state to cast their votes with full enthusiasm and celebrate this great festival of democracy.” He particularly encouraged young and female voters to actively participate in the voting process.
Regarding Jharkhand, he mentioned, “Today marks the second and final phase of the great festival of democracy in Jharkhand. I appeal to all voters to be a part of this process and set a new voting record. I extend special greetings to the young voters who are casting their first vote, as each of your votes reflects the strength of the state.”
Additionally, by-elections are also occurring for 15 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Kerala, and Uttarakhand. This includes nine seats in Uttar Pradesh, four in Punjab, one in Kerala, and one in Uttarakhand. Furthermore, voting is underway for the by-election in the Nanded Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra.
