WHO has issued new guidelines related to air quality for the first time since 2005. The World Health Organization hopes that through these stringent guidelines, it will help to inspire countries towards clean energy and prevent deaths and diseases caused by air pollution.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that air pollution kills at least 7 million people prematurely every year.
He said that research has shown that “air pollution affects all parts of the body, especially from the brain to the babies in the mother’s womb.
