PM Modi greeted women on the International Women’s Day. While greeting he said, “India is proud of our nation’s many achievements. It is the privilege of our government to be able to contribute for women’s equality in a variety of fields.”
President Ramnath Kovind too joined in wishing women and called on all compatriots to work tirelessly for women’s protection, education and freedom.
‘Welcome and best wishes for our fellow people on the eve of International Women’s Day. Women in our country set new milestones and successes in different areas. Let us commit to foster social justice together and eradicate gender discrimination,” he tweeted.
Officially recognised by the United Nations in 1977, International Women’s Day is observed every year on 8 March in order to create awareness about women’s issues.
