Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today met 8 workers from Uttar Pradesh, among the 41 people rescued from the partially collapsed Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand. On Friday morning, 8 workers reached Lucknow, the capital of UP, by road from Rishikesh. All these people were evacuated safely from inside the Silkyara Tunnel of Uttarakhand on 28 November.
All the workers were airlifted to AIIMS, Rishikesh on Wednesday after being kept under medical observation for a night at the community health center in Chinyalisaur. Actually, after returning home, all these workers had planned to meet UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. All these people were among the 41 workers who were trapped in the Uttarkashi tunnel for 16 days.
A part of the Uttkashi tunnel had collapsed on 12 November. In which 41 workers were trapped. On the 16th day (28 November) i.e. Tuesday night, the rescue operation conducted by the central and state government agencies on a continuous war footing was successful in taking them out. After being taken out of the tunnel, he was admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh on Wednesday for intensive health check-up.
