Bangalore airport had rough evening today due to, well, rough weather. An Air Asia plane parked on the tarmac was hit by a cart used to transport luggage from the terminal to aircraft. And, a ladder likely belonging to IndiGo toppled over as strong winds and heavy rain lashed the city.
Heavy winds and rain led to minor accidents at the Bangalore airport with an Air Asia plane getting hit by a baggage card and a passenger ladder toppling over
Photos of the minor accidents showed a baggage cart having hit an Air Aisa plane on its underside, near the wing. The photos showed a corner edge of the baggage cart in contact with the plane, resulting in a minor dent. In the photo, the plane’s engine is seen covered, indicating that the aircraft — an Airbus model — was in parking and not being used for passenger operations.
Another photo showed a blue-coloured ladder topped over and lying on its side. The colour pattern indicates the ladder belongs to the IndiGo airline.
More details regarding the extent of the damage to the plane and other incidents if any are awaited. It has since stopped raining in Bengaluru.
