Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) manifesto for the Jharkhand Assembly elections today, Sunday, in Ranchi. On this occasion, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Sanjay Seth, and BJP Jharkhand President Babulal Marandi were present.
At the manifesto launch event, BJP Jharkhand President Babulal Marandi stated that development work in Jharkhand has only happened when the BJP has been in power in the state. Marandi said, “Whenever the BJP has formed the government in Jharkhand, development work has taken place. Whenever the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has formed the government, they have done nothing for the state and only developed their own families. This time, the people have decided to form an NDA government.”
BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Dev mentioned that the manifesto will include all sections of Jharkhand’s society, focusing on issues related to farmers, women, youth, infrastructure, and development. It is noteworthy that elections for the 81 seats in the Jharkhand Assembly will be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with the counting of votes taking place on November 23. In the previous Assembly elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) won 30 seats, the BJP secured 25, and the Congress obtained 16 seats.
Some of the key highlights of the BJP’s manifesto include:
- Providing free electricity up to 100 units per month for households.
- Implementing the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme for all the people of Jharkhand.
- Establishing a medical college in each district of the state.
- Doubling the annual income of farmers through the implementation of various agricultural reforms.
- Creating employment opportunities for the youth by setting up more industrial hubs and skill development centers.
- Providing 33% reservation for women in government jobs and educational institutions.
- Ensuring the overall development of the tribal communities through various welfare schemes.
