Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has extended support to the Telugu film industry and promised to provide land in Visakhapatnam region for carrying out shooting and production work.
A delegation from the Telugu film industry consisting of Megastar Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna, SS Rajamouli, Dil Raju, Vijay Chander, Damodara Prasad, C Kalyan, PVP, and D Suresh Babu met the Chief Minister at his official residence on Tuesday, and thanked him for providing single-window permission for shootings in the state and also presented their views for the development of the Telugu film industry in the state.
Responding to the industry’s need, the Chief Minister told the delegation to set up studios and other production facilities in Visakhapatnam, as the State government is going to extend support by all means.
“Chief Minister assured to provide lands in Vizag for the Film Industry, for setting up of studios and other production facilities. The government also agreed to provide land for housing plots for the celebrities who wish to settle in Vizag,” said Perni Nani, Minister of Transport, AP.
Addressing media after the meeting, Chiranjeevi said that the Chief Minister has agreed to allow shooting of films in the state from July 15 and responded positively over the issues related to Tollywood. He stated that CM Jagan assured the previous allotment of 300 acres in Visakhapatnam by former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy to Tollywood, will also go through. The land will be useful for the construction of studios and setting up outdoor units, he said.
