As the flights for India-UK have been opened, Air India has opened bookings for its Indian-UK flights. The Air India sources also took to twitter to give information about the flight details. The airline repoted that bookings are now available via Air India’s website, booking offices, call centre and registered travel agents.
“Booking for Air India flights between India and UK is open now,” the airline said in a tweet.
Flights for which bookings have been announced are: Mumbai-London-Heathrow; Delhi-London-Heathrow.
Air India has confirmed that these services are in addition to daily flights.
Earlier that day, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that flights from India to the United Kingdom would resume on 6 January, while services from the United Kingdom to India would resume on 8 January.
‘Resumption of flights between India and the United Kingdom: India to the United Kingdom from 6 January 2021. United Kingdom to India from 8 January 2021.
He added that this schedule would be effective until 23 January and that further frequency of flights would be decided after a review.
India suspended all passenger flights between the two countries from 23 December to 7 January, when a new form of coronavirus appeared in the United Kingdom.
