“Modi ji never forgets his roots and proudly calls himself a chai-wala’’: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad who retired recently from the Rajya Sabha thanked Narendra Modi on Sunday saying he did not forget his origins and happily calling himself a ‘chaiwala,’ while being the Prime Minister.

Addressing members of the Gujjar community during the Jammu case, Azad said, “People must learn of Narendra Modi, who, while he has become a Prime Minister, has never forget his origins. He proudly calls himself a ‘chai-wala.’

Days after PM Narendra Modi, Ghulam Nabi Asad, whose tenure as opposition leader in Rajya Sabha ended earlier in the month, received a tearful farewell.

In a 13- minute speech, Modi broke down several times, remembering the support and sacrifice Azad made in returning the Gujarat residents who were trapped in Cashmere in 2007 during a terrorist attack.

Three times more construction work has to be completed. J&K is expected to earn 3-4 times more Delhi funds. Job is not visible today and business is closed,” said Azad.

The leaders of the G-23, including Azad, called for a change of leadership and internal reform in the Congress on Saturday, told the group that it was fragile and had come together to reinforce it. Members Kapil Sibal, Anand Sharma, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Manish Tewari, Vivek Tankha, Raj Babbar and many others were present at the gathering.
