Muslim man Danish Ali offers Rs 51 lakh for ‘beheading’ Hindu priest

Any alleged or perceived ‘insult’ to their prophet Muhammad is considered a legitimate reason for beheading by radical Islamists.

Muslim man from Meerut has sent an open threat to behead Hindu priest through his video. The video has apparently gone viral and has been noticed by the police officials. Danish Ali from Meerut is seen announcing a Rs 51 lakh reward for anyone who beheads Swamy Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati of Dasna Temple for his anti-Muslim remarks. The video was uploaded after a video of Yati Narsinghanand at a press conference in Delhi went viral on social media, where he allegedly offended Muslims’ religious sentiments with comments about Prophet Muhammad.

In the video, the Muslim man Danish Ali can be heard threatening Yati Narsinghanand and saying he messed with the wrong people in a 01:45 second video. He claims that the priest should not have spoken against the “creator of the world,” and that he will face consequences as a result. Danish, enraged by Yati Narsinghanand’s comments, declared that if given the chance, he would behead Yati Narsinghanand himself.

Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati also shared this video on his Twitter account.

As soon as the video went viral, some social media users tagged UP Police, urging them to take appropriate action against the video’s creator. A police official at Meerut’s Railway Road police station confirmed that Danish had been arrested and was being interrogated.

Prior to this, there were threats to this priest from others as well. Amanatullah Khan, an AAP MLA, had also issued a death threat, threatening to behead him for the same reason. Khan stated in a tweet, “We cannot tolerate such impertinence for our beloved Prophet Muhammad.” This heinous insect should be sentenced to death by severing his tongue and neck. But the law of the land forbids us from doing so; we believe in the Indian constitution, and I want De. In response to his tweet calling for the beheading of a temple priest, Delhi Police have also filed a FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan.

Following numerous threats, social media users are trending the phrase ‘Main Bhi Narsinghanand’ in support of Dasna temple’s head priest Yati Maharaj.

Blasphemy is punishable by death in the majority of Islamic countries. In India, thousands of Muslims marched in support of Kamlesh Tiwari’s beheading after he made anti-Muslim remarks. Tiwari was later assassinated by Islamic extremists in 2019.

Last year, hundreds of Islamists attacked the house of a Congress MLA in Bengaluru, encouraged by local political leaders, after the MLA’s relative shared a social media post that allegedly “offended” Islam. The mob had set fire to police stations and assaulted officers. In France last year, a school teacher Samuel Paty was beheaded by an Islamist for showing the Charlie Hebdo cartoons in his class.
