“Agreement reached with two separatist groups in Tripura in the presence of Amit Shah.”

On Wednesday, in the presence of Amit Shah, an agreement was signed in New Delhi between the Government of India, the Government of Tripura, representatives of the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT), and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF). The signing ceremony was attended by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Tripura government, along with leaders from both organizations.

On this occasion, the Union Home Minister stated that with this agreement, 328 members from both organizations will join the mainstream. He assured that the central government would ensure strict adherence to the agreement. The government will work towards the development of the region and address the root causes of separatism. A provision of ₹2,500 crore has been made for the development of the area, which will benefit the tribal regions.

He also mentioned that the Modi government has honored every agreement made. These agreements have been implemented sincerely, resulting in people joining the mainstream and contributing to development. The Modi government is working for a strong and developed Northeast in an atmosphere of dialogue and peace. The government is not only improving road, rail, and air connectivity but also working to bridge the emotional distances.

The Home Minister highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the central government has signed 12 significant agreements to restore peace and prosperity in the Northeast, three of which are related to Tripura. Due to these agreements, around 10,000 people have laid down their arms and joined the mainstream of society. He emphasized that today’s agreement will bring an end to a 35-year-long deadlock.
