In Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan claimed on Monday that a team from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrived at his house to arrest him. Sources revealed that the ED team visited Amanatullah’s residence in Okhla as part of an investigation related to a money laundering case.
Amanatullah, who represents Okhla in the Delhi Assembly, said, “This morning, on the orders of a tyrant, his puppet ED arrived at my house. The tyrant has left no stone unturned in persecuting me and other AAP leaders.” Several AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the center, accusing investigative agencies of targeting those who raise their voices against the ruling party.
The head of BJP’s Delhi unit, Virendra Sachdeva, targeted AAP, alleging that the party has a “long” list of “corrupt” individuals. He said, “AAP has a long list of corrupt people. When the law takes its course, they start making noise. Amanatullah Khan is speaking out against the ED’s actions, which investigated corruption in the Delhi Waqf Board. If you have engaged in corruption, you will have to answer for it. The law is the same for everyone.”
