Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed the recent completion of the District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday and said that the Modi Government is doing all it can to restore grassroots democracy in the Union territory.
In a series of tweets, Mr Shah also thanked the people of Jammu and Kashmir for voting the BJP as the single largest party in the maiden DDC polls.

Congratulating the people of Jammu and Kashmir for “such a great turnout” in the DDC polls, the Home Secretary congratulated the efforts of the security forces and the local authorities to make these multi-phase elections a success, as this would further improve the confidence and faith of the UT people in democracy.
