Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda collapsed due to low blood sugar in Chitradurga while on his way to the city from Shivamogga on Sunday and was admitted to hospital here, official sources said.
The minister who is 67-years-old has been admitted to hospital and doctors have said that his condition is stable and is awaiting further hospital examinations, they said.
The Minister was first admitted to the hospital in Chitradurga, and later moved to the private hospital here by an ambulance by zero traffic control. After attending a state BJP conference, the Minister was on his way to Bengaluru from Shivamogga.
He collapsed after welcoming party members and leaders to Chitradurga, where he had a stop at a hotel for lunch this afternoon, sources said. The former Chief Minister of Karnataka, was instantly taken to Basaveshwara Medical College and Chitradurga Hospital.
Later, he recovered and talked to BJP leaders and family members on the phone. Gowda’s son Karthik said to reporters, “…poor blood sugar has contributed to it… it’s all right now.
