“We will definitely win over 200 seats, Mamata has clearly lost the poll battle in Bengal”: Amit Shah

Talking to people of Bengal about Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress party, Home Minister Amit Shah said that Mamata Banerjee has clearly lost the poll battle in the state. He also added that the CAA will be on the agenda of the first meeting of the new BJP government that will take power in the state.

The Home Minister held two roadshows in the state on Friday, one in Baruipur, South 24 Parganas, and the other in Arambagh, Hoogly.

According to the top BJP leader, based on the feedback he has received, the party has already won 50 of the 60 seats up for election in the first two phases and will win more than 200 of the total 294 assemblies.

The Citizenship Amendment Act will be discussed at the first meeting of the new BJP government in West Bengal. The safety of women in the state will be a top priority for the party. When asked to comment on Banerjee’s claim that she will easily defeat Nandigram, Shah stated, “It is clear that she has lost the battle.” She’s making such lofty claims now that she’s misguiding her own people of the state.”

Following the flower-bedecked truck on which Shah stood waving were BJP workers carrying high the party’s lotus symbol and balloons in its colours, shouting Jai Shree Ram and Aar Noy Annay (no more injustice) as a large number of onlookers gathered on both sides of the road braving the summer heat.

The roadshow covered 1 km in Baruipur and 1.5 km in Arambagh.
