President Droupadi Murmu’s Message to Teachers on the Eve of Teachers’ Day

President Droupadi Murmu extended her heartfelt greetings to teachers across the country on the eve of Teachers’ Day. She emphasized the significant responsibility that teachers bear in nurturing the minds of future generations and guiding them toward holistic excellence.

The President remarked that this day commemorates the birth anniversary of the great educator, philosopher, and former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who remains a tremendous source of inspiration for the entire nation. She acknowledged that children are the future of the country, and as students, they learn life skills and values. Teachers, in their role as guides, have the power to shape students into future leaders who will define the destiny of our nation.

President Murmu highlighted that it is the duty of teachers to instill moral values, critical thinking skills, and a sense of responsibility towards society in their students. As envisioned in the National Education Policy 2020, teachers can empower students to lead meaningful lives and contribute to building a developed nation through modern teaching methods and the effective use of technology.

Additionally, the President’s message announced that the Amrit Udyan within the Rashtrapati Bhavan complex will be specially open for all teachers on Teachers’ Day (September 5). Teachers can enter through Gate No. 35 of Rashtrapati Bhavan, near North Avenue Road. For their convenience, a free shuttle bus service will also be available from the Central Secretariat Metro Station to Gate No. 35.
