Sachin Vaze writes to NIA, blames Anil Deshmukh and Anil Parab for ordering him to extort over Rs 100 crore

Suspended Mumbai Police assistant inspector Sachin Vaze has blamed Anil Deshmukh and Anil Parab of extortion in a letter to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The letter was handwritten by Sachin Vaze to the NIA. In the letter he blamed that NCP chief Sharad Pawar was opposed to his reinstatement into Mumbai Police in 2020 and wanted it revoked. To this, Sachin Vaze was told to pay Deshmukh Rs 2 crore, then he will persuade Sharad Pawar to reinstate him in the force.

“The home minister told me that he would persuade Pawar saheb, and he asked for Rs 200,000 to do so.” I had stated that I was unable to pay such a sum. On this the home minister asked me to pay it in a later course,” Sachin Vaze wrote.

Sachin Vaze has also claimed that Anil Parab, the Maharashtra Transport Minister and Shiv Sena leader, asked him to extort money for him.

The suspended cop claims that Anil Parab approached him in July-August 2020 and asked him to extract Rs 50 crore from the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust (SBUT), which was under investigation.

“Minister Anil Parab summoned me to his official bungalow in July-August 2020. At the meeting, Parab asked me to look into the preliminary inquiry complaint and bring the SBUT trustees to him for negotiations about the inquiry.

He also insisted on starting primary negotiations with SBUT to obtain Rs 50 crores in order to end the investigation. “I had expressed my inability to do anything because I did not know anyone from SBUT In his letter to the NIA, Vaze claims that Anil Parab called him again in January 2021 and asked him to look into an inquiry against some BMC contractors and collect Rs 2 crore from each of them.and I also did not have any control over the investigation,” Sachin Vaze told the NIA.
