Successful Test of Ballistic Missile Prithvi-2

India conducted a night test of the nuclear-capable ballistic missile Prithvi-2 from a defense facility near the Odisha coast. Developed by DRDO, this missile is capable of accurately striking targets at a distance of up to 350 kilometers. In the successful test, the Prithvi-2 missile once again demonstrated its effectiveness by hitting the target with a high degree of accuracy.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the night test launch of the Prithvi-2 missile was conducted from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha, at around 7:46 PM. The nuclear-capable short-range ballistic missile successfully hit its target with high precision, reaffirming its operational capability. During the test, the missile met all predetermined operational and technical standards. The test was carried out as part of a regular training program.

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has indigenously developed the Prithvi-2 ballistic missile. The Prithvi-2 missile system is considered highly successful and is capable of striking designated targets with very high accuracy.

According to DRDO, this missile, which can strike up to a range of 350 kilometers, was launched from a mobile launcher. The Prithvi-2 missile has a range of 350 kilometers and is capable of carrying weapons weighing between 500 and 1,000 kilograms. This surface-to-surface missile, with a range of 350 kilometers, is equipped with two engines powered by both liquid and solid fuels. It is operated using both liquid and solid propellants.
