To facilitate pilgrims during the upcoming Maha Kumbh, 7,000 buses will be operated. In the first phase, 3,050 buses will be deployed, while in the second phase, all 7,000 buses will be operational. Similarly, to accommodate local passengers, 550 city buses will be operated, out of which 200 will be run by the Urban Transport Department, and the remaining 350 by the Transport Corporation.
It is noteworthy that the Yogi government is planning to organize this grand event, set to take place in Prayagraj in January and February 2025, with full grandeur. Extensive preparations are being made for the event, and the transport arrangements are part of this effort.
The upcoming Kumbh Mela 2025 is divided into three phases. The first phase will be from January 12 to January 23, the second phase from January 24 to February 7, and the third phase from February 8 to February 27. The main bathing dates are January 13, January 14, January 29, February 3, February 12, and February 26, while the principal bathing festival, Mauni Amavasya, will take place on January 29, 2025. During this time, the largest number of pilgrims is expected. To ensure smooth operations, temporary bus stations will be set up, and a regional manager will be assigned to each center for effective management.
