The ongoing speculation over the name of Rahul Dravid has finally ended. BCCI has announced to extend his tenure as coach. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to extend the tenure of head coach Rahul Dravid and his support staff. He will remain the coach of the Indian men’s senior team. BCCI announced on Twitter the extension of tenure of Rahul Dravid and his team.
The board appreciated the role of Rahul Dravid in preparing Team India. Along with this, the role of VVS Laxman as the President of NCA was also praised. Laxman is currently handling the responsibility of coaching the Indian team in the T20 series against Australia.
The Indian Express had claimed in the report that the board was considering making Ashish Nehra the coach for the T20 format. Nehra’s name was considered in view of his excellent record in the Indian Premier League. Under the coaching of Nehra, Gujarat Titans team won the title in its very first season.
