Japanese camera making company Panasonic introduced its “S” line of cameras in the year 2019 with two models: Panasonic LUMIX S1 and LUMIX S1H. Today, the Japanese camera maker has launched a new full-frame mirrorless camera -the Panasonic LUMIX S5 via livestream.
Panasonic LUMIX S5 delivers video and image quality similar to S1 and S1H camera models but is way more compact and lighter in weight. The representatives at the online-only event claim that the new LUMIX S5 camera model is brilliant for low-light photography. Let us have a look at the features of the new camera in detail:
Panasonic LUMIX S5 packs a 24.2-megapixel full-frame image sensor. The LUMIX S5 offers ISO of up to 51200 when shooting photos, with dual native ISOs of 640 and 4,000 to reduce noise throughout the range. With the S5 camera model, camera users get in-body image stabilization (IBIS) with up to 5 stops of speed.
The LUMIX S5 features an electronic viewfinder that has a 2.36 million-dot OLED display and 0.74x magnification. For the display, users get a 3-inch 1.84-dot LCD panel. Other features include two SD card slots, one UHS-I and another UHS-II, and a 2200mAh battery that can be charged over USB-C.
For video recording, the camera can shoot 4K videos at up to 30fps and fullHD videos at up to 180fps.
Panasonic LUMIX S5 has been launched for the global market and will be available sometime in mid-September. The company is yet to launch the LUMIX S5 in India. The price for the LUMIX S5 is indeterminate for the Indian market.
