Though the political scene down South was not very supportive of the Narendra Modi government’s recent move on the scrapping of Article 370, actor-politician Rajinikanth on Sunday congratulated Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the government’s move to end the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcating the state. He also hailed him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “Krishna and Arjuna”.
“My heartfelt congratulations to Amit Shah for Mission Kashmir. Hats off,” Rajinikanth said at a book release function in Chennai.
The opposition DMK and actor-turned-politician Kamal Hasan who recently launched his party, Makkal Needhi Maiam strongly criticised the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as Union terrirtorries.
Actor-turned –politician Rajnikanth plans to launch his political party soon before the 2021 assembly elections in Tamilnadu.
The BJP government’s leaders were visionaries who wanted Jammu and Kashmir to be integrated with the rest of the country. Gradually, life was coming back to normalcy with the government lifting section 144, just before Eid festival. People were seen coming in large numbers to buy essentials for the Eid festival.
