Gulf countries such as Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia are involved in buying an Indo-Russian Brahmos supersonic cruise missile, says Financial Express.
“The talks are in the nascent stage and further discussions are stalled due to the global lockdown of COVID-19,” sources reported.
Negotiations on this agreement may likely be made on a four-day visit by Chief General MM Naravane to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE by the Indian Army.
Earlier, it emerged that India would supply the BrahMos to the Philippines as Manila became the first user of the missile weapon.
The deal will be signed during a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte, in February 2021. The supersonic missile has a span of 290 kilometres and has been admitted in significant numbers to the three wings of the armed forces.
