Senior congress leader Gudur Narayan Reddy who also holds the post of Telangana Congress Treasurer has quit the party by sending a letter to Sonia Gandhi.
Though Reddy has been involved in Congress for over four decades, sources said the senior Congress leader has plans to join the Bhartiya Janata Party.
In a letter addressed to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Monday, Gudur Narayan Reddy said he has served the Congress party since his student days in 1981 till date. Thanking the Congress leadership, Reddy said in his letter that he is now resigning from his posts as the TPCC Treasurer, AICC member and also from the primary membership of the party.
Recently, Hyderabad went for polls and Congress managed to gain only two seats in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election in which BJP made huge strides in Hyderabad.
