BCCI President and former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly held an hour-long meeting on Sunday with West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, which Raj Bhavan’s sources described as a “courtesy call” and said there was nothing political about it.
“The governor said he has been in Bengal since July last year. He said he wanted to visit Eden Gardens and meet me. I said that was not possible today as there was some cricket practise going on. I decided to come and meet him and invite him to Eden Gardens next week,” Ganguly told reporters
Raj Bhavan sources said that Ganguly’s meeting with Dhankhar has little to do with the state’s political developments.
