Joe Biden and Kamala Harris celebrated Diwali in America, wishing the people

US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris greeted Indian-Americans at the White House ceremony on Monday.

Biden said in his address, “We are honored to host you. This is the first Diwali reception of this scale to be held at the White House. We have more Asian Americans than ever in history and we want to thank you for making Diwali a joyous part of American culture.”

Joe Biden said, “Diwali reminds us that each of us has the power to bring light to the world. It is a choice and we make it every day, whether here in America or in India which is celebrating 75 years of independence.”

On this occasion, US Vice President Kamala Harris also addressed the people and extended her best wishes. He said, “Diwali like many cultures reminds us to see the light in the world in each other and in ourselves. It also reminds us that we should fight for peace, justice, no matter what force continues to spread hatred and division.”
