Supporters gathered outside the residence of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan clashed with the police late on Tuesday night to prevent his arrest. Despite trying for 14 hours to arrest Khan, the police could not arrest him. Police and Khan’s supporters have been at loggerheads for more than 14 hours.
Police used tear gas shells and water cannons to disperse Khan’s supporters. Khan’s supporters gathered to protest the Islamabad police that arrived to arrest him. A day after a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case, the police reached his house.
Several videos have been taken from PTI’s Twitter handle, in which it is being said that police are firing tear gas shells at Imran Khan’s residence as well. A senior police officer of Islamabad Police said that their team is here to arrest Khan in the Toshakhana case.
